The Chair “Data for a more sustainable mobility”<\/strong> is a joint initiative of the TRANSyT Transport Research Center of the Polytechnic University of Madrid and CPS. It is born with the vocation of continuity and permanence in time, designed as a space for reflection and collaboration oriented to the development of activities of social interest in the field of transportation and mobility.<\/p>

We work not only from a technological<\/strong> approach, but also from an economic<\/strong>, social,<\/strong> environmental<\/strong> and user service quality<\/strong> perspective. We are committed to innovation and research as key elements to provide value in decision making based on the efficient use of the enormous amount of data currently available.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Our methodology includes the analysis of data quality (usefulness, objectivity and integrity)<\/strong>, the work with multidisciplinary teams and the use of the necessary technological tools for the interpretation of results and support in efficient decision making.<\/p>

We address specific problems through the development of use cases in different areas of mobility. In the first phase, the work focuses on traffic management, road safety and infrastructure management. Subsequently, the focus will be broadened to cover logistics and freight transport, public transport, active mobility, mobility planning and sustainability aspects.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Connected vehicle data<\/h3>

Variables obtained from on-board sensors (ADAS systems) and information collected through the vehicle's own cameras (vertical and horizontal signaling), which are essential to improve mobility management. We emphasize the importance of the granularity of the data and the percentage representativeness of the modern fleet with respect to the circulating fleet.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Driving simulation<\/h3>

It provides predictive information, such as expected speeds and accelerations for various measures, and contributes to improving road safety by training road users. It allows to characterize the driver profile in a unique way.
The combination of data from the connected vehicle, driver behavior, infrastructure and available equipment is essential to perform a comprehensive and effective analysis of the mobility system.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
