Cátedra CPS-UPM

Data for more sustainable mobility

The CPS-UPM Chair is a collaborative space between the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and CPS Infraestructuras Movilidad y Medio Ambiente to promote a more efficient, safe and sustainable mobility based on the analysis and intelligent management of data.

Our Mission

Innovation, knowledge and training.

The Chair emerges as a long-standing strategic initiative between the TRANSyT Transport Research Center of the UPM and CPS. We set up a common forum for reflection to develop activities of social interest based on the analysis and rigorous use of transport and mobility data, with the user as the central axis of all our actions.

We combine the research experience of the University with the applied vision of the company to respond to the real needs of society.

How do we work?

Research

We explore the market, share knowledge and develop R&D&I projects that address specific problems through complex use cases. Our work is initially focused on traffic management, road safety and infrastructure management. However, the knowledge forum is open to joint participation with stakeholders from the public transport, logistics, active mobility, planning and sustainability sectors.

Disclosure

We disseminate research and studies through technical conferences, participation in congresses and mobility forums at National, European and International level. The Chair aims to become a benchmark in the exchange of experiences and the sharing of knowledge on the effective use of transportation and mobility data to support decision making.

Training

We organize seminars, workshops and master classes for students, contributing to the training of future professionals capable of facing new challenges in mobility management from a perspective based on new data sources and their combination with classic data sources.
